Lift Quip (Pty) Ltd is a 51% black owned company that has operated in the steel wire rope industry for the last 38 years. The company was established in 1984 with the aim of supplying products at competitive prices combined with excellent service, which was sorely lacking in the industry at the time. Over the years the company has built up a select group of world class customers and is one of the leading suppliers to the South African gold and platinum mining industry.
The company has successfully concluded a Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment transaction with Bakopane Holdings (Pty) Ltd. The shareholders of Bakopane Holdings comprise an experienced group of black investors including the Sakhisizwe Private Equity Fund and the Bakopane Community Trust.
Lift Quip imports a select range of general engineering steel wire ropes. Test certificates accompany these ropes, which are manufactured strictly to international specifications. Our products include galvanized and ungalvanized ropes, non-spin and PVC covered ropes. These may be supplied in full drum lengths or lengths cut to customer requirements. In addition, we also supply clamps and shackles.
